Who is CMT
CMT is Central Iowa’s premier testing laboratory specializing in geotechnical, Portland Cement Concrete (PCC), Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), aggregates, soil, and smoothness (profilometer) testing in addition to steel and other construction inspections. Based out of Des Moines, our team of technicians and engineers have worked on a wide variety of projects across 12 states, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Engineering Technician – Full / Part Time Positions
Are you a hands-on individual who is self motivated to accomplish tasks? Engineering technician duties would include field and laboratory work, measuring and testing construction materials, interaction with contractors, independent time management and producing various field reports. This position could focus on soils, concrete, and asphalt testing. CMT will help you to gain certifications in these areas and maintain the knowledge. A high school diploma with math and science knowledge would do well in this position.
This position requires a clean driving record, criminal background check and a drug test.
Staff Engineer
CMT is excited to present an opportunity to add staff engineers to our office! We are looking for geotechnical staff to assist project managers with reviewing laboratory data, analyzing geotechnical data, report drafting, and general project management, just to list a few. Our staff engineers will assist with project estimating, scope and design, and execution. This position will promote effective communication with clients and owners, and assist technicians on laboratory training. Must have an BS degree, with an EI designation, and emphasis in geotechnical engineering.
